Signode has been driven by the need of a company with a small production volume to achieve a good and economical bottom-of-product film packaging with the lowest possible investment in equipment. “Power pre-stretch film” or pre-stretched wrapping technology. The film thickness of a standard pre-stretched machine up to 300% is 17-25 microns, and to achieve the full effect, a special pre-stretching head on the film coater is required to stretch 4 metres of each metre of film from the roll before it is applied to the product base. In the MimaLite concept, the film is stretched in the factory using special technology. The result is a great value for money for small businesses: the cost per metre of 7 to 9 micron thick film has been significantly reduced and one roll of MimaLite film can pack around 65 euro-bins. The labelling device is significantly simpler and more economical. The elasticity effect of the pre-stretched film is the same as before – the film tries to regain its original state and thus forms an even tighter package.

We also offer a wide range of prestressed hand wedges in thicknesses ranging from 6,6 – 17my with or without core. Signode film has 600 m of film per roll, and you can film 2-3 times more vessels with one roll than with a standard 15my film. The quality of the coating is improved as the exposed film pulls the substrate together after application.
